Does Jonathan Curtis Have Management Experience?

Yes. Jonathan Curtis has managed buildings, and he has managed people.

Housing

Curtis managed five apartment properties in Madras with Cascade Management. After that he was the manager at Bridge Meadows in Redmond, a community of 10 family homes and 26 apartments for elders.

At Bridge Meadows he did a bit of everything. He handled maintenance and repairs. He moved new residents in. He hosted a community event every week. When someone was having trouble with rent, he pointed them to local programs that might help.

A sales team

In 2025 Curtis managed a 15-person sales team at Amtech in Bend. He hired people, trained them and coached them every day. Many of them had never worked in sales. He taught them the whole process from the start.

Small business

Curtis also runs small businesses in Central Oregon. That means schedules, staffing and keeping customers happy.

What it taught him

Curtis says managing is not about being in charge. It is about making things work for the people who depend on you.

A resident does not care about a title. They care whether the heater gets fixed. A new hire does not care who the manager is. They care whether someone will explain the job.

He also says paperwork is people. Every lease, every form and every record is attached to somebody's life. If you are careless with the paper, you are being careless with the person.

That is why he is running for Deschutes County Clerk. The office runs elections, records property documents and issues marriage licenses. It is detailed work, and people are counting on it being done right.

His plan is to listen to the staff who know the work, learn it properly, and lead the way he always has. Teach clearly. Pay attention. Trust good people to do their jobs.

Jonathan Curtis is a candidate for Deschutes County Clerk in the November 3, 2026 general election.
