One Page, Three Answers: The Voter Guide Jonathan Curtis Wants Before Every Election
Voting should not come with guesswork.
When is the deadline? What if my signature has changed? Did my ballot arrive?
Those are fair questions. Jonathan Curtis thinks every voter should be able to find the answers in one easy place.
The idea
If he is elected Deschutes County Clerk, Curtis says he will put out a short, plain-language voter guide before every election. It will answer three questions.
- What are the deadlines?
- How do I update my signature?
- How do I track my ballot?
That is it. One page, written in normal words, easy to find.
Why he cares
Curtis spent 19 years in speech therapy growing up. He knows how it feels when a message is not getting through. He says that when that happens, the person sending the message needs to try harder.
The Clerk's Office is nonpartisan, and this idea is too. A voter who knows the deadlines and knows how to check on their ballot is a more confident voter, whatever their politics.
Curtis was born and raised in Bend. He would like every one of his neighbors to vote without having to guess how.
Jonathan Curtis is a candidate for Deschutes County Clerk in the November 3, 2026 general election.
