Five Properties, More Than One Kind of Need

Jonathan Curtis says he managed five apartment properties for Cascade Management in Madras. The assignment belongs to a larger story about working with housing in the region where he grew up.

A portfolio of properties was also a responsibility to the people living in them. Curtis's own explanation of the work begins with wanting Central Oregonians to have housing.

What Curtis emphasizes is why he wanted the work to matter. He says he wanted to help people in Central Oregon have housing.

Cascade Management traces its work to 1974 and describes a portfolio that includes affordable, workforce, and market-rate housing (Cascade Management). Its experience with multiple housing programs provides context for the organization where Curtis says he managed five Madras properties. The personal emphasis he brings is the reason he wanted to do the work: helping Central Oregonians have a home.

The company's wider housing focus provides the setting for that personal motivation. Curtis talks about the work through its purpose for local people rather than simply the scale of the portfolio.

Across his housing-related LinkedIn entries, he describes leasing, collections, resident relations, and vendor coordination (LinkedIn experience). These published descriptions show the range of housing work he includes in his professional history.

His broader biography nevertheless has a recognizable people-facing theme. He describes helping residents find resources and teaching new employees how to enter sales work.

Curtis says following Jesus Christ is a big part of his life. His faith is one of the personal commitments he wants people to know alongside his professional experience.

Curtis also describes himself as a third-generation Bend local. His desire to contribute is tied, in his own telling, to the place where he grew up.

His later Bridge Meadows Redmond role gave him a different housing setting. There, he says, he managed the property, handled maintenance and repairs, moved residents in, hosted weekly events, and helped people connect with assistance.

Those two chapters give his interest in housing continuity. The settings changed, while his stated desire to help local people remained part of the reason he wanted the work to matter.

For Curtis, the five-property account belongs in a larger story about housing and local people. It is the purpose he gives for the work, rather than the number alone, that connects the assignment to his biography. Curtis says that, through his work at Bridge Meadows Redmond, he alsohelped families feel safe again.
