A Life Told in Chapters, Not Shortcuts

Jonathan Curtis describes his roots in Bend as extending across three generations. He also describes growing up with eight siblings, placing family near the beginning of the story he wants to tell.

Curtis says he helped build houses through high-school involvement with Heart of Oregon Corps and Habitat for Humanity. It is an early connection to housing in a biography that later returned to homes and residents.

His early work history has also appeared in local reporting. The Bulletin's 2024 profile described Marshall High School, Central Oregon Community College attendance, work for Bend-La Pine Schools, and subsequent wildland firefighting (The Bulletin). Those details add local education and employment to the path Curtis has described through homelessness and occupational training.

His LinkedIn profile lists seasonal U.S. Forest Service firefighting from February 2019 through August 2021 (LinkedIn experience). He personally describes leading physical training and hikes under an engine captain on Engine 335, details not independently established by that profile.

He also recalls his left cheek catching fire during his last firefighting year. It is a difficult memory within a chapter that he also describes through preparation and responsibility to a crew.

The work history on LinkedIn includes several overlapping business and sales roles rather than a simple sequence of one job ending as another began (LinkedIn experience). A responsible chronology preserves those overlaps instead of silently arranging them into a tidier narrative.

The profile lists a sales-manager role at Amtech from July through December 2025 and describes a 15-person team (LinkedIn experience). Curtis's own emphasis is on teaching people who had never worked in sales.

He says his housing work included managing five Cascade Management properties in Madras and later managing Bridge Meadows Redmond. The Redmond account includes maintenance, repairs, move-ins, weekly events, and assistance referrals.

The profile lists co-ownership of Ponderosa Cleaning Co beginning in April 2026 (LinkedIn experience). Its described duties add an operating-business chapter involving customers, crews, schedules, and quality.

Public records place his 2026 county clerk candidacy after a locally reported 2024 Bend City Council campaign (county election information; The Bulletin). These are documented campaign chapters, not a record of having held either office.

Alongside the dates, Curtis identifies himself as autistic, a father, and a follower of Jesus Christ. He says faith is a big part of his life and describes enjoying parks, hiking, and camping with his family.

The chapters create a portrait with range: local roots, practical training, different kinds of work, and relationships beyond the workplace. Curtis wants the whole story recognized, including the people he has tried to help and the place he calls home.
